Angulo's double-double lands her Liga Desarrollo Player of the Week award

Liliana Angulo

30-year old Liliana Angulo (183-C/F-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for UDJ and receives a Hoops Agents Liga Desarrollo Player of the Week award for round 2.
She had a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team (#0, ) with 18-point margin 62-44. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Thanks to this victory Punto R. moved-up to the 4th position in Ecuadorian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Punto R. will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. Angulo just recently signed at Punto R., being already a very valuable addition to the team.

Second best performed player last round was Doris Lasso (164-G-93) of league's second-best Los Andes SM. She is former international guard in her first season at Los Andes SM. In the last game Lasso recorded impressive 7 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Of course she led Los Andes SM to another comfortable win outscoring Santa ES (0-3) 83-36. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Lasso is one of the most experienced players at Los Andes SM and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Samy Bacilio (180-C-03) of league's leader La Perla. Bacilio scored 9 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of La Perla, leading her team to a 80-55 easy win against Viejo W. (#6, 1-2). La Perla started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Bacilio turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Bacilio has a great season in Ecuador. After only 3 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.0rpg (5th best).
