Heidy Guayaquil
Lucia Garrido (C/F-92) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for UDJ, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga Desarrollo Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Santa ES (#8, 0-5) with 30-point margin 79-49. Thanks to this victory UDJ moved-up to the 5th position in Ecuadorian Liga Desarrollo. UDJ is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. Garrido just recently signed at UDJ, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Lucia Garrido has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 13.4ppg), rebounds (6th best: 10.4rpg) and averages impressive 2.4spg.
The second best player in last round's games was 29-year old Maria Munoz (C-91) of Henko. Munoz had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Henko lost that game 55-63 to Viejo W. (1-4). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Munoz is one of the most experienced players at Henko and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.3ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 10.3rpg and 4.3apg.
Third on the list of top players last round was another UDJ's star - guard Heidy Guayaquil (157-G-99). Guayaquil scored 16 points. She was another key player of UDJ, helping her team with a 79-49 easy win against Santa ES (#8, 0-5). UDJ needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victories and 1 lost games. Guayaquil has a great season in Ecuador. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 2.8apg (9th best).
Other top performing players last week:
4. Daniela Mora (179-C-92) of Los Andes SM - 19 points and 6 rebounds
5. Paulina Vaicekauskas (180-C-03) of La Perla - 12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Milena Mora (170-G) of Viejo W. - 20 points and 2 rebounds

9. Nahomi Guzman (178-C/F-01) of Vikingos - 13 points and 11 rebounds
10. Sarahi Valencia (F-03) of Vikingos - 20 points and 9 rebounds
The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
