Barahona's double-double lands him Liga Desarrollo Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Abraham Barahona

17-year old power forward Abraham Barahona (193-F/C-03) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Importadora and receives a Hoops Agents Liga Desarrollo Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Sacramento (#5, 1-2) 62-59. It allowed Importadora to consolidate first place in the Ecuadorian Liga Desarrollo. The season is still on an early stage, but Importadora already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Barahona had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Importadora's top player in his first season with the team. Barahona has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 18.7ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 13.0rpg) and averages solid 2.0bpg,2.7spg and 56.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Andres Conchambay (190-SF-87) of Santa Maria. He is a in his first season at Santa Maria. In the last game Conchambay recorded impressive double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Santa Maria was edged by Piratas (2-0) 70-67. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Conchambay is one of the most experienced players at Santa Maria and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#4). He also registered 6.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to Nixon Mina (205-C/F-90) of Rincon dC (#7). Mina scored 11 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Mina's great performance Rincon dC lost 52-54 to Punto Rojo (#3, 2-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Rincon dC can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 3 games. Mina has individually a great season in Ecuador. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.3rpg (3rd best).
