Luis Riascos
Experienced Former international Swingman Luis Riascos (194-F/G) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best Piratas and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga Desarrollo Player of the Week award for round 4.
The swingman had the game-high 25 points adding six rebounds and four assists for Piratas in his team's victory, helping them to beat Caballeros (#4, 2-2) 87-76. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Piratas maintains the 2nd position in Ecuadorian Liga Desarrollo. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Piratas will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. Riascos just recently signed at Piratas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Riascos has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.3ppg) and assists (2nd best: 3.8apg).
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 22-year old center Jordan Cardenas (206-C-98) of Caballeros. Cardenas impressed basketball fans with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Caballeros lost that game 76-87 to slightly higher-ranked Piratas (#2, 3-1). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Caballeros still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 2-2 record is not bad at all. Cardenas is one of the most experienced players at Caballeros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.3ppg (#9). He also registered 11.7 boards per game.
The third best performed player last round was another Caballeros' star - Yussephe Castaneda (185-G). Castaneda showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the last round. Despite Castaneda's great performance Caballeros lost 76-87 to #2 ranked Piratas. But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Caballeros needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Castaneda has a great season in Ecuador. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 3.3apg (4th best).
Other top performing players last week:
4. Victor Barahona (F) of Piratas - 20 points and 4 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
