Eduard Caicedo
30-year old Eduard Caicedo (196-C/F-90) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Punto Rojo and receives a Hoops Agents Liga Desarrollo Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had a double-double of 17 points and 23 rebounds, while his team outclassed Importadora (#3, 3-2) with 26-point margin 61-35. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Punto Rojo to consolidate first place in the Ecuadorian Liga Desarrollo. Punto Rojo have a solid 4-1 record. Caicedo just recently signed at Punto Rojo, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Caicedo has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 20.0ppg).
Second best performed player last round was Jordan Cardenas (206-C-98) of Caballeros. He is a center in his first season at Caballeros. In the last game Cardenas recorded impressive double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Caballeros to another comfortable win 71-55 over slightly lower-ranked Santa Maria (#6, 1-3) being unquestionably team leader. Caballeros' 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 2-2 record is not bad at all. Cardenas is one of the most experienced players at Caballeros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.3ppg (#8). He also registered 11.7 boards per game.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Rodrigo Roldan (PF-98) of Rincon dC (#5). Roldan scored 16 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Rincon dC, leading his team to a 70-43 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Sacramento (#7, 1-4). The chances of Rincon dC ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Roldan could help Rincon dC to bring them higher in the standings. Roldan has a great season in Ecuador. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.8rpg (3rd best).
