Hector Rivera
Guard Hector Rivera (G-03) had a great game in the last round for Rincon dC, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga Desarrollo Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 18-year old player had a double-double of 30 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Caballeros (#3, 5-4) 74-64. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Rincon dC is placed at 4th position in Ecuadorian Liga Desarrollo. Rincon dC is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-5 record. In the team's last game Rivera had a remarkable 53.3% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Rincon dC, through which he has constantly improved. Hector Rivera averages just after three games 13.0ppg and 10.7rpg.
The second best player in last round's games was 31-year old former international Eduard Caicedo (196-C/F-90) of league's second-best PUNTO ROJO LR. Caicedo had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Punto Rojo to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Santa Maria (#6, 2-7) 71-51. Punto Rojo's second position in the standings has not changed. His team's 7-2 record is not bad at all. Caicedo is one of the most experienced players at Punto Rojo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.9ppg (#1). He also registered 16.7 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was center Nelson Ayovi (C) of Santa Maria (#6). Ayovi scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Despite Ayovi's great performance Santa Maria lost 51-71 to the higher-ranked Punto Rojo (#2, 7-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Santa Maria can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-7 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Ayovi has individually a great season in Ecuador. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.7rpg (7th best).
Other top performing players last week:
4. Jordan Cardenas (206-C-98) of Caballeros - 18 points and 16 rebounds
5. Arath Polanco (G-03) of Sacramento - 19 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
