Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Ambato: Caballeros (#4) and Importadora (#5). Caballeros (5-4) won against visiting Importadora (4-5) 80-68. Caballeros made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Caballeros outrebounded Importadora 55-39 including a 43-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Caballeros made 11 blocks. 26 personal fouls committed by Importadora helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Carlos Delgado (202-90) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. Center Jordan Cardenas (206-98, college: FNU) chipped in 17 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks. Power forward Abraham Barahona (193-3) produced 23 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Caballeros moved-up to third place. Importadora lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with five games lost. Caballeros are looking forward to face league's second-placed Punto Rojo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Importadora will play against the league's leader Piratas and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.

It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Punto Rojo. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The former international swingman Luis Riascos (194-0) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Aaron Capurro contributed with 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Eduard Caicedo (196-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 22 rebounds for Punto Rojo. Punto Rojo's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Piratas have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. Punto Rojo at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Piratas will play against Importadora (#5) in Ambato in the next round. Punto Rojo will play at home against Caballeros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a great evening for Rodrigo Roldan who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 18 rebounds. Nelson Ayovi responded with 8 points and 14 rebounds. Santa Maria's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Rincon dC moved-up to fourth place. Loser Santa Maria keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Rincon dC will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Santa Maria will play against Sacramento (#7) in Quito and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
