This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-best Punto Rojo (7-3) to third ranked Caballeros (6-4) 78-77 on Sunday evening. Caballeros forced 19 Punto Rojo turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Caballeros made 10 blocks. It was a good game for center Jordan Cardenas (206-98, college: FNU) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 20 rebounds. The former international power forward Carlos Delgado (202-90) contributed with 26 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Guard Janer Arcila (-4) replied with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals for Punto Rojo. Punto Rojo's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Caballeros have a solid three-game winning streak. Worth to mention a quality performance of guard Erick Mecias (184-3) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds and Patricio Cortez who added 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Piratas' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Michael Torres (-2) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds. Piratas have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. Importadora lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with six games lost.

The winners were led by William Daniel Guayaquil who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Santa Maria's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even 12 points and 9 rebounds by Jose Noboa did not help to save the game for Sacramento. Santa Maria maintains sixth position with 3-7 record. Sacramento lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with nine games lost.

Sacramento - Santa Maria 61-66
