National League Round 2: Punto Rojo defeat Club Valle

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in National League. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Club Valle at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Punto Rojo 81-76. Punto Rojo forced 22 Club Valle turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Punto Rojo made 8 blocks. American guard LaQuincy Rideau (185-1996, college: S.Florida) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Uruguayan guard Martin Trelles (187-1996) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American James Edmond Jr. (205-1991, college: Lincoln, MO) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for Club Valle. Club Valle's coach Daniel Gonzalez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
The game in was also worth to mention about. Triple E-Uda played at the court of Nesfebanor. Triple E-Uda defeated Nesfebanor 82-67. Venezuelan power forward Jean Pierre (205-1991) scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and Eric Worthey chipped in 18 points during the contest. Yolvis Granado responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.



Nesfebanor - Triple E-Uda 67-82

The game in was also worth to mention about. Triple E-Uda played at the court of Nesfebanor. Triple E-Uda defeated Nesfebanor 82-67. Triple E-Uda forced 24 Nesfebanor turnovers. Strangely Nesfebanor outrebounded Triple E-Uda 35-22 including 29 on the defensive glass. Venezuelan power forward Jean Pierre (205-1991) scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Eric Worthey (196-1991, college: Lourdes) chipped in 18 points during the contest. Four Triple E-Uda players scored in double figures. Yolvis Granado responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Dani Duarte (-84) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
