Rideau's 22 points and 9 rebounds give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

25-year old guard LaQuincy Rideau (185-G-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Punto Rojo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had the game-high 22 points adding nine rebounds and six assists for Punto Rojo in his team's victory, helping them to beat Club Valle (#6, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 81-76. It allowed Punto Rojo to take over top position in the Ecuadorian league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Punto Rojo won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Rideau had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He just recently signed at Punto Rojo and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. University of South Florida graduate has very impressive stats this year. Rideau is in league's top in points (5th best: 20.0ppg), rebounds (6th best: 9.0rpg), assists (3rd best: 4.5apg) and averages solid 63.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jean Pierre (205-F/C-1991) of Triple E-Uda. He is Venezuelan forward in his first season at Triple E-Uda. In the last game Pierre recorded impressive 20 points and 8 rebounds. Of course he led Triple E-Uda to another comfortable win 82-67 over Nesfebanor (0-2) being unquestionably team leader. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Pierre is one of the most experienced players at Triple E-Uda and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.0ppg (#4). He also registered 8.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Punto Rojo's star - center Jordan Cardenas (206-C-1998). Cardenas scored 16 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Punto Rojo, helping his team with a 81-76 win against Club Valle (#6, 0-1). Punto Rojo has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Cardenas also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Cardenas has a great season in Ecuador. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 14.0rpg (#1 in league).
