Duarte's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

38-year old Dani Duarte (1984) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Nesfebanor and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 27 points and 22 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Guerreros (#7, 1-6) 71-77. Nesfebanor maintains the 8th position in Ecuadorian league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 7 games and recorded just one victory. Duarte has many years of experience at Nesfebanor, through which he has constantly improved. Duarte has impressive league stats. Of course he led Punto Rojo to another comfortable win 81-67 over slightly lower-ranked Triple E-Uda (#3, 4-4) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Punto Rojo consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team has currently 7-2 record. Alderete is one of the most experienced players at Punto Rojo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.7ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 9.7rpg and 3.8apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Eric Worthey (196-G-1991) of Triple E-Uda (#3). Worthey showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, thirteen rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. Despite Worthey's great performance Triple E-Uda lost 67-81 to #1 ranked Punto Rojo. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Triple E-Uda needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 4 victories and 4 lost games. Worthey has a great season in Ecuador. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.6ppg (4th best). He also has 3.7spg and FGP: 51.5%.
