Ecuadorian National League round 9 best performance: James Edmond Jr.

American Power forward James Edmond Jr. (205-PF-1991) had a great game in the last round for Club Valle, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Guerreros (#7, 1-6) 83-73. Club Valle maintains the 4th position in Ecuadorian National League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Club Valle will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Edmond Jr. had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Club Valle, through which he has constantly improved. Former Lincoln University star has very solid stats this year. Edmond Jr. is in league's top in points (5th best: 20.0ppg), rebounds (5th best: 11.6rpg) and averages impressive 51.2% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young Venezuelan Emilio Cappare (199-F/G-1990) of league's second-best Santa Maria. Cappare had a very good evening with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led Santa Maria to another comfortable win 81-68 over the lower-ranked Nesfebanor (#8, 1-7) being unquestionably team leader. Santa Maria's second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 6 matches. Cappare is one of the most experienced players at Santa Maria and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.7ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 8.4rpg and 3.1apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Santa Maria's star - Venezuelan guard Alejandro Noguera (PG-1995). Noguera scored 24 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was another key player of Santa Maria, helping his team with a 81-68 easy win against the lower-ranked Nesfebanor (#8, 1-7). Santa Maria is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 6-1 record is not that bad... Noguera has a great season in Ecuador. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.0ppg (9th best). He also has 2.7spg and FGP: 68.4%.
