An interesting game for Punto Rojo (10-2) which hosted in 3rd placed Club Valle (4-4). First ranked Punto Rojo had an easy win 85-57. Punto Rojo dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Club Valle's 42. Punto Rojo forced 29 Club Valle turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Club Valle's players. American guard LaQuincy Rideau (185-1996, college: S.Florida) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals. Argentinian Pablo Alderete (198-1993) contributed with 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Venezuelan Darwin Sanz (-1990) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds for Club Valle. Punto Rojo have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-2 record. Newly promoted Club Valle keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Triple E-Uda.
Leader Caballeros blasted 7th ranked Guerreros (1-8) in Tulcan 125-71 keeping the perfect record after 11 rounds. Guerreros is still unable to win any game. It was a great evening for American guard Robert Colon (187-1999, college: WSSU) who led his team to a victory scoring 43 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Carlos Delgado helped adding 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 blocks (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Caballeros' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Caballeros players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 11 blocks.
