Piratas de Los Lagos (Liga Basquet Pro) added to their roster experienced 35-year old ex-international power forward Engels Tenorio Parales (197cm-100kg-1987) for season 2023. It is actually his comeback to Ibarra as he has played here before. Tenorio Parales moved there from Punto Rojo in Ecuadorian National League where he started the season. He missed last four seasons and had longer break from professional basketball.
Tenorio Parales also represented Ecuador at the ODESUR Games in Santiago (Chile) nine years ago. His stats at that event were 3 games: 10.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.0apg, FGP: 40.0%, 3PT: 20.0%, FT: 57.1%.
He has spent his entire career in Ecuador playing for two other teams: Mavort and Importadora. His team made it to the National League Semifinals in 2014 and 2016.
Tenorio Parales is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at Piratas.
