Paraguay overcame Ecuador 66-59 in Valdivia at the AmeriCup FIBA 2025 Qualifiers. Paraguay started the game with a 21-19 run and added an 18-7 rally in the second period. Both teams nailed 16 points each in the third quarter, whilst Ecuador won the last period 17-11 to reduce the gap to 7 points at the end. Rodney Mercado (191-SF-1999) top-scored for the winners with 19 points and Juan Poisson (198-C-1998) collected 14 points and 13 rebounds. Johu Castillo (199-F-1999) replied with 16 points in defeat and Adriano Barreras (186-G-1989) notched 11.
