Ambato Soldiers posted the initial win in Liga Sudamericana Group A beating Universidad de Chile 86-71. Trailing 20-21 at the end of the first quarter, Ambato Soldiers bounced back with a 21-13 run in the second frame. Moreover, they dominated the second half and produced two wins to secure the win.
Marjorie Caicedo (180-PF-1990) and Clenia Noblet (190-C-1987) stepped up with 16 points each, whilst Lyndra Weaver (185-F/C-1987, college: Virginia, agency: LBM Management) netted 15. Javiera Campos (PG-2002) answered with 13 points in a loss, whilst Javiera Novion (170-PG-1987, college: Eckerd), Fernanda Serrano (175-SG-1992) and Catalina Abuyeres (182-C-1997) produced 12 each.
