Bady Alvarez claims Ecuadorian National League Hoops Agents weekly honour

Talented Bady Alvarez (188-G-2004) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Ambato Soldiers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 19-year old guard had the game-high 30 points adding five rebounds and four assists for Ambato S. in his team's victory, helping them to beat ATUC (#3, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 106-97. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Ambato S. to jump to the first place in the Ecuadorian National League. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Ambato S. won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Alvarez had a remarkable 92.3% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Ambato S. and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Alvarez has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.5ppg. Alvarez is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 8.5rpg), assists (7th best: 2.5apg) and averages solid 1.5bpg,2.5spg,73.1% FGP and 60.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Carlos Rojas of ATUC Basketball Club. Rojas impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as ATUC lost that game 97-106 to Ambato S. (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Rojas is one of the most experienced players at ATUC and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.0ppg (#3). He also registered 11.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another ATUC's star - Emilio Romero. Romero scored 28 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Despite Romero's great performance the ATUC Basketball Club lost 97-106 to #1 ranked Ambato S.. But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Romero has individually a great season in Ecuador. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.5ppg (2nd best) and assists with 3.0apg (5th best).
