IMP Alvarado (Liga Basquet Pro) confirmed in their roster experienced 41-year old American guard Paul Marigney (191cm-92kg-1982, college: SMC) for new 2024 season. Marigney is the second import player in the roster as Canadian Triston Matthews signed here earlier.
He played there last season. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the semifinals.
He is quite experienced player. Marigney has played in seven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally also in France (JDA Dijon), Israel (Hapoel Beer Sheva and Elitzur Maccabi Netanya), Italy (Reggio Emilia, Pavia Basket, Ferrara and Veroli), Lebanon (Sagesse), Mexico (Tijuana Zonkeys, Barreteros, Ostioneros de Guaymas, Cerveceros and Toros) and Venezuela (Cocodrilos).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Latinbasket.com All-Ecuadorian National League Player of the Year and Latinbasket.com All-Ecuadorian National League Import Player of the Year back in 2018.
Marigney is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at IMP Alvarado.
He graduated from Saint Mary's College of California in 2005 and it will be his 20th (!!!) season as a professional player.
Marigney could be described: A very athletic player, with inside and outside dimensions, even if his long distance shooting sometimes disappears. Needs to improve his defensive skills, has yet upside.
