Jorge Guzman CD (Liga Basquet Pro) landed experienced 35-year old American 210cm power forward Xavier Gibson (college: FSU) for upcoming season. Gibson moved there from Asociacion Basquetbol Ancud in Chilean LNB league. In 28 games he averaged 13.1ppg, 7.9rpg, 1.3apg and 1.6bpg last season. He helped them to make it to the Supercup final. The last season he played at Grupo Desportivo Interclube de Luanda 2nd team (Division I) in Angolan league.
Gibson has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2014.
He is a very experienced player. Gibson has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to seven different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Greece (Panelefsiniakos), Japan (Alvark Tokyo, Niigata Albirex, Osaka Evessa and Brave Warriors), Mexico (Vaqueros), Saudi Arabia (Ohod), Turkey, Uruguay (Trouville) and NBA G League (Osceola Magic).
Among many awards he was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese BJ League Defensive Player of the Year back in 2016.
It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at J.Guzman.
Gibson graduated from Florida State University in 2012 and it is his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball.
