San Antonio Gold (Liga Basquet Pro) tabbed experienced 37-year old Brazilian 205cm center Andre Coimbra (college: CMU). Coimbra played most recently at CEB Puerto Montt in Chilean LNB league. In four games he averaged 14.3ppg, 8.8rpg, 1.8apg and 1.8bpg last season.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in nine different countries playing on three different continents. Coimbra is familiar with Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. He has played previously professionally in Argentina (Ferro and Salta Basket), Colombia (Bucaros), Iraq (Al-Hashd), Japan (Orange Vikings), Uruguay (Coimbrabraica and Capitol), Venezuela (Llaneros), Brazil (Vivo/Franca, Luvix/Uniao Corinthians, Botafogo, Brasilia and Universo/Goiania), Nicaragua (Leones) and Ecuador (Pasaje). His team made it to the Brazilian National League Semifinals in 2016 and 2017.
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at San Antonio Gold.
He graduated from Central Michigan University in 2012 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season in pro basketball.
