Ecuadorian National League round 6 best performance: Carlos Rojas

Carlos Rojas had an amazing evening in the last round for ATUC Basketball Club, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The player had a double-double of 28 points and 15 rebounds, while his team in a lost game to Ambato S. (#2, 10-4) 73-85. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. ATUC maintains the 4th position in Ecuadorian National League. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 13 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Rojas had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at ATUC, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Carlos Rojas has solid league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 18.7ppg and leads league in rebounds with 14.9rpg. Rojas is in league's top in assists (4th best: 2.9apg) and averages impressive 52.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Bady Alvarez (188-G-2004) of league's second-best Ambato Soldiers. Alvarez had a very good evening with 26 points and 4 rebounds. Bad luck as Ambato S. was edged by slightly lower-ranked ATUC (#4, 1-13) 69-66. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Ambato S. still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 10-4 record is not bad at all. Alvarez is one of the most experienced players at Ambato S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.1ppg (#3). He also registered 6.1 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American swingman Tyiek Rivers (198-G/F-2001) of league's top team L.D.U. Santa Maria. Rivers scored 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He was a key player of Santa Maria, leading his team to a 93-61 easy win against #3 ranked Iccan. Santa Maria confirms their top position in the standings. Rivers has a very solid season.
