The most interesting game of round 9 in the Liga Basquet Pro was a home defeat of 6th ranked San Antonio G. (5-4) to fourth ranked IMP Alvarado (6-3) 85-78. It ended the three-game winning streak of San Antonio G.. IMP Alvarado moved-up to third place. San Antonio G. at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Piratas and Spartans. IMP Alvarado are looking forward to face Spartans (#5) in Quito in the next round. San Antonio G. will have a break next round.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Piratas (5-4) against twelfth ranked Zamora J. (2-7) on Monday night. Host Piratas were defeated by Zamora J. in a tough game in Ibarra 87-93. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Piratas. Zamora J. moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Guerreros MC. Piratas at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Spartans and San Antonio G.. Zamora J. will play against league's leader Leones in Riobamba in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Piratas will play on the road against Liga Deportiva Univ (#4) in Quito and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 9 bottom-ranked CyC Manabi was destroyed by Cuenca BC on the opponent's court 118-95. Guerreros MC unfortunately lost to Spartans in a home game 74-79.

CyC Manabi lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Cuenca BC will meet league's second-placed J.Guzman in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CyC Manabi will play against Piratas (#6) and hope to win that game.

Guerreros MC - Spartans 74-79

Rather predictable result in Santo Domingo where seventh ranked Spartans (5-4) defeated 10th ranked Guerreros MC (2-7) 79-74 on Wednesday. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Spartans. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Piratas and San Antonio G. Guerreros MC lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Zamora J.. Spartans will meet higher ranked IMP Alvarado (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Guerreros MC will play against Barcelona (#8) in Guayaquil and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
