Barcelona Sporting Club (Liga Basquet Pro) signed experienced 36-year old American forward Diamon Simpson (204cm-104kg-1987, college: SMC). Simpson played last season at Penarol in Argentinian La Liga. In 30 games he had 9.8ppg, 9.2rpg, 1.3apg and 1.4bpg.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
Simpson is quite experienced player. He has played in twelve different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Simpson has played previously professionally in Australia, Israel (Maccabi Tel Aviv, Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon Le-Zion, Ironi Nahariya, Maccabi Ashdod/Be'er Tuvia and Ironi Nes Ziona), Mexico (Dorados and Plateros), Philippines (FiberXers), Russia (Avtodor), Spain (Estudiantes), Turkey (Buyukcekmece), Venezuela (Trotamundos), NBA (Houston Rockets), Czech Republic (Nymburk), Argentina (Quimsa and Riachuelo de La Rioja) and The Basketball Tournament (Gael Force and Gutter Cats). His team was regular season runner-up in WCC in 2008 and 2009. He was voted to All-WCC Defensive Player of the Year back in 2008 and 2009.
He graduated from Saint Mary's College of California in 2009 and it will be his 16th (!!!) season as a professional player.
