Liga Basquet Pro Round 20 (Regular Season): J.Guzman defeat San Antonio G. in the closest game of the week

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Liga Basquet Pro. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Eleventh-ranked San Antonio G. (7-13) gave a tough game to second ranked J.Guzman (16-4) in Machala on Thursday. The visitors from Loja managed to secure only three-point victory 73-70. However their fans expected much easier game. J.Guzman maintains second position with 16-4 record having just one point less than leader Leones. San Antonio G. at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Zamora J.. J.Guzman are looking forward to face Cuenca BC (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Antonio G. will play against Liga Deportiva Univ and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.

IMP Alvarado maintains third position with 13-7 record having four points less than leader Leones. Newly promoted Liga Deportiva Univ dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. IMP Alvarado will play against Spartans (#8) in Quito in the next round where they are favorite. Liga Deportiva Univ will play on the road against San Antonio G. in Machala and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Liga Basquet Pro top team - Leones (18-1) added another victory to their record on Thursday. This time they beat seventh ranked Spartans (8-12) in Riobamba 109-102. Leones have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-1 record. Loser Spartans dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost. Leones will meet at home Zamora J. (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spartans will play against IMP Alvarado and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 20: Guerreros MC destroyed CyC Manabi on the opponent's court 100-74. Zamora J. unfortunately lost to Barcelona in a home game 90-102. Cuenca BC recorded a loss to Piratas on the road 90-93.

Very expected game in Portoviejo where 12th ranked CyC Manabi (1-19) was crushed by eighth ranked Guerreros MC (8-11) 100-74 on Friday. Guerreros MC have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place. CyC Manabi lost sixteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Guerreros MC will meet at home higher ranked Barcelona (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CyC Manabi will play against Piratas (#4) in Ibarra and hope to win that game.

Zamora J. - Barcelona 90-102

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Barcelona (9-10) defeated on the road 10th ranked Zamora J. (7-13) 102-90 on Friday. Barcelona maintains sixth position with 9-10 record. Loser Zamora J. keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with San Antonio G.. Barcelona will meet Guerreros MC (#7) in the next round. Zamora J. will play against the league's leader Leones in Riobamba and hope to secure a win.

Liga Deportiva Univ - IMP Alvarado 86-89
