Ecuadorian Liga Femenina round 4 best performance: Luciana Garrido

Guard Luciana Garrido (G) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Union Deportiva Juvenil Quininde, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The player had a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds, while her team edged out Santa Maria (#2, 4-2) 66-65. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed UDJ to consolidate first place in the Ecuadorian Liga Femenina. UDJ have a solid 5-1 record. In the team's last game Garrido had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. She just recently signed at UDJ, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Luciana Garrido has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (4th best: 15.0ppg) and rebounds (3rd best: 9.8rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was young international power forward Noelia Moran (180-PF-2002) of Ambato Soldiers. Third on the list of top players last round was international guard Heidy Guayaquil (157-G-1999) of league's second-best Club Santa Maria Machala. Guayaquil scored 24 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Despite Guayaquil's great performance the Santa Maria lost 65-66 to #1 ranked UDJ. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Santa Maria needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Guayaquil has a great season in Ecuador. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.0ppg (5th best), rebounds with 6.2rpg (9th best) and assists with 4.6apg (best passer).
