Moncayo's 23 points give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

23-year old point guard Mateo Moncayo (186-PG-2002) had a great game in the last round for Club Iccan de Macas and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
He had the game-high 23 points adding four rebounds and four assists for Iccan in his team's victory, helping them to beat Cuenca (1-3) 85-75. Iccan maintains the 5th position in their group in the Ecuadorian league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 3 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Moncayo had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He just recently signed at Iccan, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Mateo Moncayo averages this season 11.8ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Romeo Smith (202-PF-1995, agency: BIG) of Ambato Soldiers. He is American forward in his first season at Ambato S.. In the last game Smith recorded an impressive double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Ambato S. lost that game 75-87 to Group B's leader Alvarado (#1, 4-0). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group B. Ambato S. still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. 3 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Ambato S. managed to get this year. Smith is one of the most experienced players at Ambato S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.5ppg (#8). Third place about best performers goes to forward Alexander Guerra (196-F-1996) of Andes B.C. Ibarra (#3). Guerra scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!).
