Ecuadorian LNB round 7 best performance: Oscardi Sambrano

Venezuelan Oscardi Sambrano (1993) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Piratas de Los Lagos, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 32-year old player was the main contributor (24 points, five rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Leopat (#4, 0-5) with 71-point margin 105-34. It allowed Piratas to consolidate first place in the Ecuadorian LNB. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Piratas has a very solid 4-2 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Sambrano had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Oscardi Sambrano averages just after three games 4.7ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Cuban Marvin Cairo (203-C-1991) of league's leader IMP Alvarado. Cairo had a very good evening with 34 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Alvarado was edged by slightly lower-ranked Deportivo Gold (#2, 6-1) 86-83. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group B. Alvarado still maintains its place as the top team in the standings, even despite this loss. It was just his team's 1st loss this season, while they won 7 other games. Cairo is one of the most experienced players at Alvarado and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Bady Alvarez (188-G-2004) of league's second-best Golden Club Deportivo. Alvarez got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He was a key player of Deportivo Gold, leading his team to a 86-83 win against #1 ranked Alvarado. Alvarez has a great season in Ecuador. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.0ppg (3rd best).
