Brujos - San Salvador 79-85 An interesting game for San Salvador (1-2) which played road game in Izalco against Brujos (1-2). San Salvador managed to get a 6-point victory 85-79. San Salvador forced 21 Brujos turnovers. Strangely Brujos outrebounded San Salvador 46-33 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American Chris Blake (195-88, college: Detroit) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. American-Puerto Rican forward Julian Torres (206-97, college: LSUA) accounted for 14 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side. Four San Salvador players scored in double figures. San Salvador's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Troidell Carter (206, college: Slippery Rock) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds and naturalized Canadian Jose Araujo (187-86, college: UNBC) added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Brujos in the defeat. Fantasmas (1-1) saved a 3-point victory at home edging Chalchuapa (0-3) 99-96 on Saturday evening. Fantasmas forced 21 Chalchuapa turnovers. Chalchuapa was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Luis Rivera who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Bryan Masel helped adding 31 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Marcus Feagin (192-91) with a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 28 rebounds and the other American import forward Jose Ortiz (190-90, college: DelVal) scored 24 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Chalchuapa's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Santa Ana had an easy win 106-81. Santa Ana dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Aguila's 30 and had 23 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Aguila only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Aguila 57-45 including a 40-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. Santa Ana players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Aguila helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American center Marc Montavious (206-90, college: Georgetown, KY) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 28 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import Eddie Ishman (196-86, college: Miles) chipped in a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Santa Ana players scored in double figures. Santa Ana's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Ronald Patten (201-93, college: UW-Whitewater) who recorded a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds and Lee Vasquez (177-91) added 24 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. It was a good game for guard Brian Vasquez (190) who led his team to a victory with 48 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Point guard Alejandro Arias (188-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American-Puerto Rican forward Julian Torres (206-97, college: LSUA) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 27 rebounds and naturalized American point guard Roberto Martinez (185-91, college: OLLU) added 25 points and 8 assists in the effort for San Salvador.
