Cojute - Chalchuapa 113-80 Seventh ranked Cojute (4-9) crushed at home 10th ranked Chalchuapa (1-14) by 33 points 113-80, which is the biggest margin this round on Tuesday night. Cojute dominated down low during the game scoring 92 of its points in the paint compared to Chalchuapa's 40. They outrebounded Chalchuapa 65-32 including a 27-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cojute looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Chalchuapa's players. American center DAndre Downey (206, college: William Penn) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 24 rebounds for the winners and American swingman Zekiah Owens (197-98, college: AIC) chipped in 20 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists. Cojute's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puerto Rican point guard Ryann Abraham (182-87, college: App State) responded with 31 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Willie Wiley (201, college: Evansville) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Cojute maintains seventh place with 4-9 record. Chalchuapa lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. It was a great shooting night for Fantasmas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Randy Bell (193-98, college: Dalton St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and guard Sameen Swint (193, college: GBC) chipped in 29 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Four Fantasmas players scored in double figures. Xavier Eaglin (201-97, college: PVAMU) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists and guard EJ Blackwell (193, college: Lourdes) scored 33 points (!!!) and 8 assists. Fantasmas have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Santiagueno lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. Dominican guard Bernardo Polanco (189-94) stepped up and scored 40 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and point guard Salvador Bandek (182-78) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Vincentian center Akeme Smart (218-91, college: McCook CC) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 27 rebounds and point guard Alejandro Arias (188-92) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Five San Salvador and four Santa Tecla players scored in double figures. San Salvador have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-1 record behind leader Aguila. Defending champion Santa Tecla keeps the fifth position with six games lost.
