Harrison Rieger claims Salvadorean Liga MB Hoops Agents weekly honour

American Harrison Rieger (196-F-98) had an amazing evening in the last round for Brujos and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 23-year old forward had a double-double of 23 points and twelve rebounds, while his team beat Santa Tecla (#6, 10-7) 87-76. Brujos maintains the 4th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Brujos will need more victories to improve their 11-5 record. In the team's last game Rieger had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Brujos' top player in his first season with the team. Harrison Rieger averages this season 18.9ppg and 7.7rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old American swingman Zekiah Owens (197-G/F-98) of Cojute. Owens impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 30 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Cojute was edged by slightly lower-ranked El Rapido (#8, 5-13) 90-87. Cojute managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Cojute managed to get this year. Owens is a newcomer at Cojute and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.7ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 12.9rpg and 5.3apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Cojute's star - American D'Andre Downey (206-C). Downey scored 24 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Downey's great performance Cojute lost 87-90 to slightly lower-ranked El Rapido (#8, 5-13). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Cojute can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-12 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Downey has individually a great season in El Salvador. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 14.7rpg (4th best). He also has 2.9bpg and FGP: 56.8%.
