Liga MB Round 3 of Quarter-Finals. Aguila advance into semifinals stage

Aguila - El Rapido 112-72

Aguila outrebounded El Rapido 44-26 including 18 on the offensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Aguila looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by El Rapido's players. The best player for the winners was Puerto Rican guard Victor Carattini (185-92, college: PR-Bayamon) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Power forward Brayan Garcia (194-98) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Aguila players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Reggie Baker (193-93, college: BCU) who recorded 23 points and 6 rebounds and Cesar Marquina (190-97) added 18 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for guard Sameen Swint (193, college: GBC) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 8 rebounds. Nick Moore (198-91, college: Nyack) helped adding 18 points and 13 rebounds. The best for the losing side was center Marc Montavious (206-90, college: Georgetown, KY) with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Maurice Taylor (198-94, college: Niagara) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Cojute brought some defensive toughness making 11 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Zekiah Owens (197-98, college: AIC) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 23 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists. American guard Chris Moten (190-89, college: LA Pierce JC) accounted for 33 points (!!!) for the winning side. Five Cojute players scored in double figures. Guyanese-American center Anthony Moe (206-90, college: Millersville) came up with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 25 rebounds and 4 blocks and American forward Chris Blake (195-88, college: Detroit) added 31 points respectively for Brujos in the defeat.

The best player for the winners was Puerto Rican power forward Owens Perez (206-92) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. American point guard Marquise Mosley (175-97, college: Biola, CA, agency: BIG) chipped in 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four San Salvador players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Vincentian center Akeme Smart (218-91, college: McCook CC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 27 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican guard Brian Vasquez (190-94) added 30 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Santa Tecla's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
