Brujos - Aguila 90-102

Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aguila made 14 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Kenny Wilson (-1993) who scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import Darryl Palmer (198-1994, college: SC State) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Aguila players scored in double figures. Aguila's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dominican forward Xavier de la Rosa (196-1991) produced 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Dominican Eliezer Valdez added 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for the hosts.

Santiagueno - Santa Tecla 72-78

Santa Tecla forced 20 Santiagueno turnovers. Colombian Michaell Jackson (190-1987) orchestrated the victory by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Point guard Alejandro Arias (188-1992) contributed with 6 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American Xavier Eaglin (201-1997, college: PVAMU) replied with 30 points and 9 rebounds and Cuban guard Pedro Roque (187-1995) added 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Santiagueno.

Santa Ana - San Salvador 67-115

San Salvador dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Ana's 34 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Santa Ana 52-32 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. San Salvador looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Panamanian Alejandro Scantelbury (199-1993) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American center Marc Montavious (206-1990, college: Georgetown, KY) chipped in 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five San Salvador players scored in double figures. San Salvador's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Irving Sandoval (180-1988) responded with 37 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and Costa Rican Luis Alfaro (-2001) scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists.

Metapan looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Fantasmas' players. Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Dominican point guard Jaison Valdez (188-1995) chipped in 4 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists during the contest. American forward Ron Lawton (196-1995, college: NMHU) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Henry Sherrod scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
