Salvadorean Liga MB round 6 best performance: Xavier Zambrana (by Hoops Agents)

Puerto Rican Power forward Xavier Zambrana (193-PF-1991) had an amazing evening in the last round for Metapan, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 34 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Santiagueno (#8, 1-4) 84-70. Metapan is placed at 4th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Metapan will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. Zambrana turned to be Metapan's top player in his first season with the team. Xavier Zambrana has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (8th best: 23.2ppg) and rebounds (8th best: 13.0rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was young American Andravious Smith (198-G/F-1995) of Fantasmas. Smith had a very good evening with a double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Fantasmas to another comfortable win outscoring Chalchuapa (#9, 0-6) 123-75. Despite this victory Fantasmas slide down in the standings to 5th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 3-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Smith is a newcomer at Fantasmas, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 32.4ppg (#2). He also registered 11.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Fantasmas' star - American guard Darius Daniels (178-PG). Daniels showcased his all-around game by recording 29 points, five rebounds and thirteen assists (!!!) in the last round. He was another key player of Fantasmas, helping his team with a 123-75 easy win against Chalchuapa (#9, 0-6). Fantasmas needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Daniels has a great season in El Salvador. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 27.6ppg (6th best) and assists with 6.0apg (5th best).
