Smith graduated from Tougaloo College in 2017. His team Independiente lost to the Brujos 78 to 92. On top of that he also recorded 16 rebounds and 6 assists that evening. He is the 4th best scorer in the league averaging over 26 points and almost 12 rebounds per game. He was also the Latinbasket All-El Salvador Liga Mayor Torneo Apertura Guard of the Year and First Team award in 2021, 2023 and 2024.
