An interesting game for San Salvador (13-0) which played road game in Santa Ana against 3rd ranked Santa Ana (9-4). Top-ranked San Salvador had an easy win 83-67. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Santa Ana. San Salvador forced 19 Santa Ana turnovers. Strangely Santa Ana outrebounded San Salvador 45-31 including 35 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Power forward Brayan Garcia (194-1998) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds. Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guatemalan point guard Lee Vasquez (173) replied with 32 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for Santa Ana. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated San Salvador have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-0 record. Santa Ana at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. San Salvador are looking forward to face Cojute (#6) in Cojutepeque in the next round where they are favorite. Santa Ana will play on the road against Santa Tecla and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.

American guard D'Andre Collins (196, college: Bridgeport) scored 44 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Gustavo Galdamez chipped in 28 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks during the contest. American guard Darnell Johnson (198, college: Saddleback JC) responded with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Brujos maintains eleventh position with 1-13 record. Independiente at the other side keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. Brujos will play against higher ranked Ahuachapan (#9) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Independiente will play against the league's leader San Salvador and will have a slim chance for a victory.
The game in Cojutepeque supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked A.Lobos (10-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Cojute (7-8). A.Lobos smashed Cojute 84-58 on Sunday. Ajang Aguek notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 22 rebounds to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by William Merino did not help to save the game for Cojute. Cojute's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. A.Lobos have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-4 record having just two points less than leader San Salvador. Cojute lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Santiagueno. A.Lobos will meet at home Salvadorenos (#4) in the next round. Cojute will play against the league's leader San Salvador and hope to secure a win.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 14: Salvadorenos beat Santiagueno on the road 68-63. Cojute won against Santa Tecla on its own court 89-81. Ahuachapan unfortunately lost to A.Lobos in a road game 79-90.
The most impressive performance of 14th round was 39 points (!!!), 18 rebounds and 7 assists by Alejandro Quezada of A.Lobos.



Cojute - A.Lobos 58-84

The game in Cojutepeque supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked A.Lobos (10-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Cojute (7-8). A.Lobos smashed Cojute 84-58 on Sunday. A.Lobos forced 21 Cojute turnovers. American swingman Ajang Aguek (201-2000, college: Lander) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 22 rebounds to lead the effort and Dominican Alejandro Quezada (195-1995) supported him with 29 points and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by forward William Merino (187-2000) did not help to save the game for Cojute. Venezuelan-Colombian center Michael Hinestroza (210-1990, college: UALR) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points, 19 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and point guard Erick Rodriguez (179-2006) supported him with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Salvadorenos players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds by Nicaraguan guard Deikel Sanchez (-1996) did not help to save the game for Santiagueno. Colombian point guard William Cabeza (175-1993) added 18 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Salvadorenos maintains fourth position with 9-5 record. Loser Santiagueno dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Cojute. Even 25 points and 4 assists by American point guard Darius Daniels (178-1997) did not help to save the game for Santa Tecla. His fellow American import forward Demaris McNeil (201, college: Johnson, FL) added 9 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Santa Tecla's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cojute maintains sixth position with 7-8 record, which they share with Santiagueno.
