The most important game in the last round took place in Usultan between third ranked A.Lobos (14-5) and sixth ranked Santiagueno (10-10) on Saturday night. A.Lobos were crushed by Santiagueno on the road 127-100. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of A.Lobos. Santiagueno dominated down low during the game scoring 92 of its points in the paint compared to A.Lobos' 20. Santiagueno forced 19 A.Lobos turnovers and outrebounded them 61-33 including a 39-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Santiagueno looked well-organized offensively handing out 46 assists comparing to just 24 passes made by A.Lobos' players. Worth to mention a great performance of Nicaraguan guard Deikel Sanchez (-1996) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and Colombian point guard William Cabeza (175-1993) who added 4 points, 13 rebounds, 25 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Erick Rojas (183-1996) responded with 41 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Santiagueno maintains sixth position with 10-10 record. A.Lobos at the other side keep the third place with five games lost.
Liga MB top team - San Salvador (19-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Ahuachapan (5-15) 127-79. The winners were led by Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 32 points and 18 rebounds and Nargenis Ulloa supported him with 26 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Even a double-double of 50 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds by American guard Jerome Savoy (185, college: Pfeiffer) did not help to save the game for Ahuachapan. Ahuachapan's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Undefeated San Salvador have an impressive 19-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 19-0 record. Ahuachapan lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 15 games lost.
