John Hernandez claims Salvadorean Liga MB weekly honour

Experienced Colombian John Hernandez (207-C-1984) had an amazing evening in the last round for Santiagueno BC and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 41-year old center had a double-double of 36 points and 25 rebounds, while his team lost the game against San Salvador (#3, 7-2) 75-98. Santiagueno moved-up to the 10th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 6 games and had just two victories. Hernandez turned to be Santiagueno's top player in his first season with the team. Hernandez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 20.9ppg) and averages solid 1.4bpg and 51.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Cuban center Marvin Cairo (203-C-1991) of league's best team AD Isidro Metapan. Cairo impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 37 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led Metapan to another comfortable win 86-67 over the lower-ranked Santa Ana (#9, 3-6) being unquestionably team leader. Of course Metapan still keep the league's top spot. He plays for the best team in the league and Metapan managed to win all 9 games keeping a perfect record. Cairo is a newcomer at Metapan and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Puerto Rican Xavier Zambrana (193-F-1991) of MC El Brasil Santa Ana (#9). Zambrana showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, 17 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Zambrana's great performance the Santa Ana lost 67-86 to the league's current leader Metapan (#1, 9-0). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Santa Ana not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 6 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Zambrana could try to bring Santa Ana's a little bit higher in the standings. Zambrana has a very solid season. In 2 games in El Salvador he scored 29.0ppg.
