Santa Tecla BC - FAS 80-86

FAS celebrated Liga Mayor title. They beat Santa Tecla to sweep the championship series. FAS outrebounded Santa Tecla BC 53-38 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when FAS made 7 blocks. 29 personal fouls committed by Santa Tecla BC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Aquillin Hayes (173, college: New Haven) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward Crystal Leary (185-92, college: WVU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 21 rebounds for the winners. Hayes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four FAS players scored in double figures. Cuban Leidys Oquendo (180-82, agency: Pro Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists and Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-84) added 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Santa Tecla BC. Santa Tecla BC's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

Santa Tecla BC - FAS 80-70 (2-1)

The best player for the winners was American point guard Britney Jones (172-87, college: UAB, agency: LBM Management) who scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Her fellow American import Emily Tevez (178-93, college: Notre Dame Namur) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. Tevez is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Santa Tecla BC's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Dominican forward Flor Jones (184-98) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 20 rebounds and American point guard Shomari Harris (170-95, college: Collin CC) added 15 points and 10 assists respectively. Four FAS players scored in double figures.
