San Marcos wins Liga de Baloncesto - Oct 2, 2011
San Marcos defeated 87-81 Leones-Automoto in Game 2 of the Liga de Baloncesto Finals, claiming the Torneo Invitacional de Baloncesto 2011 title.
Despite Game 1, in which San Marcos had dominated, Game 2 was a very hard fight, because the young Leones players showed great improvements and good shooting accuracy. With 29 points, Arturo Escamilla (185-F-77) led the losing team attack, and Nestor Montalvo (G) outstood he too, with good passes and the right leadership.
The San Marcos veterans, however, didn' t lose the occasion to close the Series, and Edwin Lopez (183-G/F-85), Salvador Bandek (181-G-78) and, above all, Miguel Banos (186-F/C-84), who scored the decisive baskets at the end of the game, led their team to the win

The 'Liga de Baloncesto de El Salvador' completed its Regular Season last week. At the end of the first phase, the teams qualified to playoffs were:
1. San Marcos
2. Denver
3. Leones-Automoto
4. ExSal
With an interesting final rush, Leones managed to surpass ExSal at the third place, avoiding to play the top seeded San Marcos. he playoff started yesterday night, Tuesday 20, and will be best of 3 games. The pairings are as follows:
