It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in Liga Superior, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The game in Chalchuapa was quite interesting. Ahuachapan (1-2) played at the court of Chalchuapa (2-1). Chalchuapa did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 69-51 on Wednesday. Chalchuapa held Ahuachapan to an opponent 23.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.3 percent accuracy of the winners and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Chalchuapa outrebounded Ahuachapan 46-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Erick Rojas who scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. point guard Francis Carcamo (167-98) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was David Paiz who recorded 11 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chalchuapa is looking forward to face ABA (#8) in Apopa in the next round. Ahuachapan will have a break next round.

It was a good game for Jose Gonzalez (-96) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Gustavo Galdamez contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. William Lima (-80) answered with 10 points and 9 rebounds for Juayua. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brujos Izalco will play against San Marcos (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Juayua will play against Arcense (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

In the last game of round 3 winless Nejapa was defeated by ABA in Apopa 72-66.
The best stats of 3rd round was 16 points and 5 rebounds by Benjamin Rodriguez of Chalchuapa.



Brujos Izalco - Juayua 65-39

The game with biggest result difference took place in Izalco. Local Brujos Izalco (2-1) outscored Juayua (0-2) 65-39. Brujos Izalco held Juayua to an opponent 22.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Juayua 49-36 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Brujos Izalco brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a good game for Jose Gonzalez (-96) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Gustavo Galdamez (190-96) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. William Lima (-80) answered with 10 points and 9 rebounds and Danel Escobar (-88) added 5 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Juayua. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brujos Izalco will play against San Marcos (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Juayua will play against Arcense (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

ABA - Nejapa 72-66

ABA used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Nejapa 72-66. ABA dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Nejapa's 28. ABA forced 27 Nejapa turnovers. Strangely Nejapa outrebounded ABA 38-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for forward Edson Sosa (188-78) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Miguel Rivas (171-94) contributed with 17 points and 7 steals for the winners. Felix Aleman (-95) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Felipe Cortez (-95) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Nejapa. Four Nejapa players scored in double figures. ABA will play against Chalchuapa (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nejapa will play against Pinitos BC (#11) in Ahuachapan and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

Nift Al-Janoub (IBL) inked American forward Nigel Grant (201-111kg, college: UNC Pembroke). He joins another USA player Darious Clark which is already in the roster.
Grant played in the summer at San Salvador BC in Salvadorean Liga MB. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. The last season Grant played at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in NCAA2 in the NCAA2 where in 33 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16

Halcones - Arcense 122-83 Halcones clinched Liga Superior Clausura title. They edged Arcense in the decisive third game of the championship series.
