Salvadorean Liga MB round 17 best performance: Timothy Simmons

American Power forward Timothy Simmons (195-PF-1992) put on an amazing game in the last round for MC El Brasil Santa Ana, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 30 points and 17 rebounds, while his team crushed Ahuachapan (#10, 1-16) with 23-point margin 108-85. Santa Ana maintains the 8th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. Santa Ana is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-10 record. In the team's last game Simmons had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Santa Ana's top player in his first season with the team. Former Dallas Baptist University star has very solid stats this year. Simmons is in league's top in points (7th best: 23.0ppg), rebounds (8th best: 11.7rpg), assists (3rd best: 7.2apg) and averages impressive 1.1bpg,2.4spg,60.8% FGP and 42.2% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Andravious Smith (198-G/F-1995) of Independiente. Smith had a very good evening with 34 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Independiente cruised to a 89-79 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Salvadorenos (#7, 7-10). Independiente's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 8-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Smith is a newcomer at Independiente, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.4ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 9.4rpg and 3.5apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Santa Ana's star - guard Ignacio Ramos (175-G-1992). Ramos got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for six assists. He was another key player of MC El Brasil Santa Ana, helping his team with a 108-85 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Ahuachapan (#10, 1-16). The chances of Santa Ana not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 10 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Ramos could try to bring Santa Ana's a little bit higher in the standings. Ramos has individually a great season in El Salvador. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.3apg (9th best).
