Yoel Cubillas was the top scorer in the whole world yesterday having an unbelievable 37 points in his last game in Metapan

37 points scored by 30 year old Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-F-1994) gave him the award of highest scoring player of the day in the world. His team Metapan beat the Independiente 86 to 77. He also grabbed 24 rebounds and got 3 assists that game. Cubillas is the 2nd best scorer in the league averaging over 28 points and almost 17 rebounds per game. The best players in the league are US college alumni. Just on the list of the top 10 best scorers we have 5 out of 10 players, who had college careers.
He is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Argentina (Regatas), Cuba (Bufalos and Lobos), Nicaragua (Costa Caribe and Jaguares), and El Salvador (El Rapido, Santa Tecla, Quezaltepeque and San Salvador).
He also represented Cuba at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador (El Salvador) last year. Cubillas was also Latinbasket.com All-El Salvador Liga Mayor Torneo Apertura Forward of the Year and irst Team award in 2023 and 2024.
He won the El Salvador Liga Mayor Clausura championship title in 2023.
Cubillas was awarded Player of the Week in the Salvadorean Liga MB 10 times already this season.
