Hinestroza's double-double lands him Liga MB Player of the Week award

34-year old VEN-COLn center Michael Hinestroza (210-C-1990) had an amazing evening in the last round for Salvadorenos BC and receives a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 16.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 19 rebounds, while his team crushed Brujos (#11, 2-15) with 17-point margin 89-72. Salvadorenos maintains the 5th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Salvadorenos will need more victories to improve their 10-7 record. Hinestroza just recently signed at Salvadorenos, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of Arkansas at Little Rock graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hinestroza is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 13.4rpg) and averages solid 3.6bpg.

Second best performed player last round was Jerome Savoy (185-G) of Ahuachapan BC. He is American guard in his first season at Ahuachapan. In the last game Savoy recorded an impressive double-double of 41 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Ahuachapan lost that game 77-96 to the higher-ranked Santa Ana (#4, 10-6). Ahuachapan is still second from the bottom in the standings. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Ahuachapan managed to get this year. Savoy is one of the most experienced players at Ahuachapan and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.1ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 9.4rpg and 4.9apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Deikel Sanchez (G-1996) of Santiagueno BC (#8). Sanchez got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds . Despite Sanchez's great performance the Santiagueno lost 91-101 to Santa Tecla (8-9). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Santiagueno ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Sanchez could help Santiagueno to bring them higher in the standings. Sanchez has a very solid season. In 5 games in El Salvador he scored 20.4ppg.
