Salvadorean Liga MB round 20 best performance: Marc Montavious

American Center Marc Montavious (206-C-1990) had a very impressive game in the last round for MC El Brasil Santa Ana, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 29 points and 29 rebounds, while his team crushed Independiente (#11, 2-18) with 20-point margin 97-77. Santa Ana is placed at 4th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Santa Ana will need more victories to improve their 12-8 record. Montavious just recently signed at Santa Ana, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Georgetown College star has very solid stats this year. Montavious is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 17.1rpg) and averages impressive 3.3bpg and 58.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Cuban Yoel Cubillas (204-F-1994) of league's leader San Salvador BC. Cubillas had a very good evening with a double-double of 32 points and 18 rebounds. Of course he led San Salvador to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Ahuachapan (#9, 5-15) 127-79. Of course San Salvador still keep the league's top spot. He plays for the best team in the league and San Salvador managed to win all 20 games keeping a perfect record. Cubillas is one of the most experienced players at San Salvador and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.1ppg (#4). He also registered 16.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Nicaraguan guard Deikel Sanchez (G-1996) of Santiagueno BC (#6). Sanchez got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for fourteen rebounds and five assists. He was a key player of Santiagueno, leading his team to a 127-100 easy win against the higher-ranked A.Lobos (#3, 14-6). Santiagueno needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 10 lost games. Sanchez has a very solid season. In 8 games in El Salvador he scored 22.0ppg. He also has 13.5rpg, 1.4bpg and a FGP of 56.0%.
