Salvadorean Liga MB round 16 best performance: Lee Vasquez

Guatemalan Point guard Lee Vasquez (173-PG) had an amazing evening in the last round for MC El Brasil Santa Ana, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 16.
The player was the main contributor (33 points, two rebounds and eight assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Salvadorenos (#5, 7-7) with 18-point margin 74-56. Thanks to this victory Santa Ana moved-up to the 7th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. Santa Ana is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-7 record. In the team's last game Vasquez had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Santa Ana's top player in his first season with the team. Lee Vasquez averages this season 26.3ppg, 5.3rpg and 5.3apg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Colombian John Hernandez (207-C-1984) of Santiagueno BC. Hernandez had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 19 rebounds. Bad luck as Santiagueno lost that game 90-95 to slightly higher-ranked Ahuachapan (#9, 4-9). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Santiagueno keeps 10th position. 11 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Santiagueno managed to get this year. Hernandez is a newcomer at Santiagueno, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.2ppg (#7). He also registered 23.4 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Jerome Savoy (185-G) of A.Lobos BKB (#3). Savoy got into 30-points club by scoring 42 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds . Despite Savoy's great performance the A.Lobos lost 76-79 to #4 ranked Cojute. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing A.Lobos needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 10 victories and 3 lost games. Savoy has a great season in El Salvador. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.8ppg (2nd best).
