Salvadorean Liga MB round 22 best performance: Xavier Zambrana (by Hoops Agents)

Puerto Rican Forward Xavier Zambrana (193-F-1991) put on an amazing game in the last round for MC El Brasil Santa Ana, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 22 rebounds, while his team edged out Ahuachapan (#9, 5-14) 92-88. Santa Ana is placed at 5th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. Santa Ana is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 10-10 record. In the team's last game Zambrana had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Santa Ana's top player in his first season with the team. Xavier Zambrana has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 20.5rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was American Kordell Brown (203-F) of Ahuachapan BC. Brown had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Ahuachapan was edged by the higher-ranked Santa Ana (#5, 10-10) 92-88. Third on the list of top players last round was Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-F-1994) of league's second-best San Salvador BC. Cubillas got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for thirteen rebounds . He was a key player of San Salvador, leading his team to a 103-91 win against the lower-ranked Independiente (#6, 9-10). San Salvador is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 17-3 record is not that bad... Cubillas has a great season in El Salvador. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.5ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 15.9rpg (4th best). He also has 2.2spg, 2.5bpg and a FGP of 67.9%.
