Marc Montavious claims Salvadorean Liga MB weekly honour

Experienced American Marc Montavious (202-C-1990) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best A.Lobos BKB and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 35-year old center had a double-double of 26 points and 19 rebounds, while his team edged out Independiente (#7, 9-11) 81-78. A.Lobos is placed at 2nd position in Salvadorean Liga MB. They are still close to the very top. A.Lobos would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 17-3 record. Montavious turned to be A.Lobos' top player in his first season with the team. Georgetown College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Montavious is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 12.8rpg) and averages solid 1.5bpg and 56.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was American point guard Robert Story (183-PG) of Ahuachapan BC. Story impressed basketball fans with 42 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Ahuachapan lost that game 99-118 to the higher-ranked Cojute (#4, 11-9). Ahuachapan is still second from the bottom in the standings. 15 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Ahuachapan managed to get this year. Story is a newcomer at Ahuachapan and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Cuban Yoel Cubillas (204-F-1994) of San Salvador BC (#3). Cubillas scored 21 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of San Salvador, leading his team to a 105-62 easy win against the lower-ranked Brujos (#11, 1-19). San Salvador is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 17-3 record is not that bad... Cubillas has a great season in El Salvador. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.5ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 15.9rpg (4th best). He also has 2.2spg, 2.5bpg and a FGP of 67.9%.

8. Pablo Figueroa (186-F-2000) of Cojute - 23 points and 7 assists
9. Kordell Brown (203-F) of Ahuachapan - 21 points and 12 rebounds
10. Alejandro Barahona (189-F-1999) of Metapan - 14 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists
