Salvadorean Liga MB round 9 best performance: Yoel Cubillas

Cuban Forward Yoel Cubillas (204-F-1994) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked AD Isidro Metapan, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 20 rebounds, while his team beat Salvadorenos (#6, 5-3) 79-72. Metapan is placed at 2nd position in Salvadorean Liga MB. They are still close to the very top. Metapan would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 6-1 record. Cubillas just recently signed at Metapan, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Yoel Cubillas has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 24.9ppg), rebounds (5th best: 11.9rpg) and averages impressive 2.7bpg,3.3spg and 60.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was American Daylon Potts (196-G) of MC El Brasil Santa Ana. Potts had a very good evening with a triple-double of 13 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists. It was enough for Santa Ana to edge Santiagueno (1-7) 76-74. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Santa Ana left the very bottom place moving slightly to 9th position. 7 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Santa Ana managed to get this year. Potts is one of the most experienced players at Santa Ana and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.6ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 21.9rpg and 6.4apg. Former Simpson University star Potts is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was Venezuelan center Michael Hinestroza (210-C-1990) of league's top team San Salvador BC. Hinestroza scored 14 points and grabbed 18 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of San Salvador, leading his team to a 102-76 easy win against the lower-ranked Santiagueno (#10, 1-7). San Salvador confirms their top position in the standings. Hinestroza has a great season in El Salvador. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.6rpg (4th best). He also has 2.3bpg and a FGP of 50.8%.
