Yoel Cubillas claims Salvadorean Liga MB Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced Cuban Yoel Cubillas (204-F-1994) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader AD Isidro Metapan and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 31-year old forward had a double-double of 32 points and 13 rebounds, while his team outclassed Santiagueno (#10, 1-8) with 76-point margin 143-67. It allowed Metapan to consolidate first place in the Salvadorean Liga MB. Metapan have a solid 8-1 record. In the team's last game Cubillas had a remarkable 86.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Metapan, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Cubillas has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 24.8ppg), rebounds (6th best: 11.3rpg) and averages solid 2.4bpg,3.2spg and 64.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Puerto Rican guard Hector Maldonado (185-G-1991) of Club de Baloncesto Cojute. Maldonado impressed basketball fans with 40 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Of course Cojute cruised to a 86-76 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Santa Ana (#9, 1-8). Cojute's 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Maldonado is one of the most experienced players at Cojute and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.3ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 6.1rpg and 5.1apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Daylon Potts (196-G) of MC El Brasil Santa Ana (#9). Potts showcased his all-around game by recording 12 points, 20 rebounds (!!!) and 13 assists (!!!) in the last round. Despite Potts' great performance the Santa Ana lost 76-86 to slightly higher-ranked Cojute (#7, 3-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Santa Ana can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Potts has individually a great season in El Salvador. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.7ppg (7th best), rebounds with 21.7rpg (#1 in league) and assists with 7.1apg (best passer). He also has 1.1bpg and a FGP of 54.2%. Potts attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

10. Jerome Savoy (185-G) of A.Lobos - 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists
