Oscar Silva
Venezuela's U16 Women's National Team is training in Caracas, at the new National Basketball Center (Centro Nacional de Baloncesto), coached by Oscar Silva, who's being helped by assistant coaches Adriana Calvette, David Duran and Oscar Velasquez.
Silva is working with a group of 27 players to select 12 in a special camp. The list of players include Yeinerling Tovar, Aguehil Fajardo, Ana Barrios, Dayenlys Veliz, Luisanny Zapata, Adeimar Alcantara, Jeymar El Kontar, Josberly Torres, Guadalupe Diaz, Maria Quero, Nicole Garcia, Yeilyn Castillo, Kariannys Prado, Luisangeli Toledo, Lieska Chacon and Odeth Betancourt.
In this first group there are 12 players who played in the 2014 U15 South American Championship at Domo Bolivariano in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, in which Venezuela finished at second place. There are also 4 whom almost made the cut.
Coach Silva also added another group of 11 players that performed great in the recent 2015 U15 National Tournament. They are Yuleisys Peraza, Maury Morales, Jairennys Arias, Norcaris Inagas, Adriana Salas, Rebeca Sira, Janeth Lee Herrera, Genesis Pina, Ashley Aguilar, Yorgelis Alvarez and Cristina Hernandez.
Venezuela will face Cuba, Canada and Brazil in Group B of the tournament to be played in Puebla, Mexico, between June 24th and the 28th.
